Taipa Area School are seeking relief teachers with a current New Zealand registration who are available on a day to day basis. Our ideal relievers will be able to create positive relationships with our tamariki as well as follow a teaching and learning programme left by the class teacher. At Taipa Area School, our vision statement, “Navigate together for success,” deeply resonates with our whānau and community. This vision is built on fostering genuine relationships with our students, providing them with a strong sense of belonging, safety, and the ability to achieve. Most of our students whakapapa to the iwi of Ngāti Kahu, and our school vision embraces and celebrates our local history, culture, and language.

We are inviting applications for a permanent leader of learning and wellbeing (dean) for our intermediate school, which has 65 students. The position commences as close to 14 May, 2024 as possible.

Over the past three years, the academic and social achievement of intermediate students at Taipa Area School has been excellent. Therefore, we seek an innovative and enthusiastic school leader who has demonstrated exemplary achievements in teaching the New Zealand Curriculum to Y7 and 8 students.

Our intermediate faculty is collegial and well-resourced, consisting of two classroom teachers and a leader of learning/wellbeing. The team adopt a relational approach to deliver engaging lessons which support students’ belonging.

Furthermore, the intermediate school is expanding, with three new classrooms ready for occupancy at the start of term 3.

Our school is adjacent to Taipa Beach, which we proudly proclaim is the best open-air classroom in Northland. Our school is on a waka, putting student wellbeing and attainment at the forefront of everything we do. We uphold three core values of Manaakitanga, Painga, and Mahitahi, which we embody in our daily practices.

This vacancy offers the option to rent a schoolhouse on a three-year contract, providing a unique opportunity for an NZ registered teacher to make a meaningful impact and grow within a supportive, and well-resourced team.
