English
Courses are offered at all three levels of NCEA and focus on a mixture of language and literature competencies. English the senior school offers pathways through NCEA Literacy and University Entrance Literacy.
Mathematics
Courses are offered at all three levels of NCEA. Mathematics offers pathways through NCEA Numeracy at Level One. Flexible programmes, catering for individual needs are a focus.
Science
General Science is offered at NCEA Level One. Covers content form each of the three branches of science – Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
- BIOLOGY – Courses are offered at NCEA Level Two and Three.
- CHEMISTRY – Courses are offered at NCEA Level Two and Three.
- PHYSICS – Courses are offered at NCEA Level Two and Three.
Social Sciences
A flexible level 1, 2 and 3 course is created around the following learning areas: Psychology, History, Classical Studies, Legal Studies.
Art
Courses are offered at all three levels of NCEA.
Photography
Courses are offered at NCEA Level Two and Three.
Food Technology
Courses are offered at all three levels of NCEA. Courses foster lifelong skills in cooking, nutrition, and wellbeing using technology skills and processes.
Hard Materials Technology
Courses are offered at all three levels of NCEA.
Physical Education
Courses are offered at all levels.
Adventurous Activities
A course is offered at level Two only.
Music
Courses are offered at all three levels of NCEA. Courses reflect a combination of theoretical and practical music.
Health Studies
Courses are offered at all three levels of NCEA.
Te Reo Māori
Courses offered at NCEA Level One, Two and Three.
Languages
Courses offered at Level 1 (Spanish, French and German).
Business Studies
Courses are offered at all three levels of NCEA. Focuses on a mixture of accounting, economics, and enterprise, and knowledge of self employment.
Careers, STAR & GATEWAY
A Careers Education Programme is delivered to all students in Years 9-13. Students preparing to transition into the workforce are able to access the GATEWAY and STAR programmes in Years 12 and 13.
