VACANCY: TEACHER AIDE
Join Our Team as a Senior Student (14-18yrs old) Support Teacher Aide!
Are you passionate about supporting students in their learning journey? We’re looking for a dedicated individual to join our team!
Hours: 25-28 hours per week
Deadline: April 29th (3:00 pm)
About the Role:
You’ll be working predominantly with individual senior students who need support in reading and writing. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in students’ lives by helping them improve their literacy skills.
Qualifications and Skills:
We’re looking for someone with experience working with senior students, preferably in a support role. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, patience, empathy, and a passion for education are essential. Relevant qualifications in education or a related field are desirable but not essential.

Taipa Area School, deeply rooted in Ngāti Kahu history, seeks a committed Year 9 Permanent Homeroom Teacher to join our vibrant team. The role involves teaching NZC Mathematics, Reading, Writing, and Social Sciences.

Candidates should have a sound understanding of the NZC and a track record of boosting student achievement. The ideal applicant will support our school’s vision, “Kia ngātahi te hoe, kia whakatere te waka ki uta” (Navigate Together for Success), nurturing an environment that is in line with our school values of manaakitanga (respect), painga (positivity), and mahitahi (teamwork).

Since implementing the homeroom model for Year 9 in 2023, we have observed significant enhancements in their academic and social development. We are searching for a creative and motivated teacher, experienced with the New Zealand curriculum. Our Year 9 team includes three classroom teachers and a Leader of Learning/Well-being, all dedicated to a relational approach to teaching engaging lessons that help our students feel connected.

Applicants should be able to foster relationships, have experience or willingness to integrate Te Ao Māori into their teaching and be eager to work collaboratively with a four-person teaching team.

In this position, you’ll be a Whānau Tutor. You’ll guide students in their academic, personal, and cultural development, helping them to feel more connected, safe, and have a sense of belonging.

Additionally, this role offers the opportunity to rent a schoolhouse under a three-year contract, providing a unique opportunity for an NZ registered teacher to make a significant impact and thrive in a supportive, resource-rich environment.

Join Our Team at Taipa Area School! – Primary Reading Assistant Position Available 

We’re looking for a part-time Reading Assistant for our Primary School at Taipa Area School. This fixed-term opportunity is essential for supporting our students’ literacy for the remainder of the year. You’ll be working across all primary classes, helping students enhance their reading skills.

Work Schedule: 3 days a week, 4 hours each day

Role: Support students by listening to them read, helping improve literacy and engagement.

We need someone who:

  • Has a solid understanding of literacy basics.
  • Is excellent at building relationships with students, staff, and whānau.
  • Is compassionate and dedicated to student development.
