e-Learning through FarNet

Taipa Area School is a member school of FarNet and is offering motivated students an opportunity to pursue their courses of study through e-learning. You may apply to be enrolled in an e-learning course if the course you wish to study is:
· not currently offered at Taipa Area School
· clashes with another timetabled class
· offered through a tertiary organisation

Students who apply must have a satisfactory record of attendance, meet the entry requirements and have demonstrated very good self management skills.

For more information on courses available you can view this website:

Internet use at School:
Taipa Area School has a fully operational computer network where students can access locally developed resources as well as the world wide web. The school network is password protected.

School access to the internet is filtered through "School Zone"

Our aim with both the school network and the internet service at school is to support learning and teaching. As a consequence of experience, we do not provide access to e-mail for students at school. However, international students and some students in leadership positions may be an exception to this.

In 2006 Taipa Area School became involved in developing it's ability to be involved in video conferencing. Initially this has included other schools in our region (Far North)
