to be given to Mr Horan the bus controller or left at the office at least 3 days

North-bound buses leave from outside the
gym. South and east-bound leave from the front of the school.
See your class or form teacher if you are
unsure of which one to catch. |

Students who ride bicycles to school may
leave them in the rack outside the office. You are advised to
have a bike padlock so that it is secure. |

Restorative
Justice
The students and
teachers in this school are proponents of Restorative Justice
practices.
This means that when
wrongdoing has been done the key considerations are to:
-
Bring together
those who have been affected in a safe and controlled
atmosphere to repair and restore the harm that has been
done.
-
Promote
accountability, well-being of those harmed.
-
Work together to
decide how best to deal with the incident.
-
Place value on
respect, honesty, humility, mutual care and trust.
Restorative practices
happen:
-
In class with the
teacher (restorative chats)
-
With Heads of
Departments, Deans
-
With the person
who has been hurt
-
With their whanau
and your whanau
-
With members of
the senior management team

Be Sun Smart
When you are in school make sure that you
use the sunblock available to you in your class room before you
go out to interval, lunch, phys.ed., or onto the beach
wear a cap or a hat ALL THE TIME when
you are outside. |
|
Primary and intermediate students
When you are swimming in the pool, please
make sure that you wear the correct swimwear, nothing cotton,
because it blocks the filter. Also, remember thatyuo can get
burnt when you are in the water, so make sure that you have your
sunblock on. |
|
Years 9 & 10
If you are on the beach at lunchtimes,
having a suprevised swim or just being with your friends, make
sure that you have used plenty of sunblock and that you are
wearing a cap or a hat when you are in the sun.
Some of the worst sunburn happens on
Grey days, when the sun doesn't appear to be shining
Make sure that you are sun smart. |

Enrolment Zone Issue:
Parents
need to know that they are able to continue to enrol their
children at Taipa even if they live within the enrolment zone for Kaingaroa School
If
families live within the
Kaingaroa
enrolment zone it
does not mean that their children are unable to attend any other school.
The free bus service to Taipa Area School for
students from Karikari Peninsula will continue, even though the area is
identified as part of the
Kaingaroa
enrolment zone .
