Congratulations Ben
In 2008, Taipa Area School student,
Ben travelled to Portugal to compete in the World Splash Championships.
There were over 100 competitors from 15 different countries.
On the last two days of the regatta the wind ranged from 5
to 15 knots which suited Ben, coming in first twice and second twice in the
final 4 races which was enough to put him in 1st overall to win
the 2008 World Championships.
Ben received 3 trophies and the NZL team won the Nations
Cup for the top team.
Ben continued with his sailing success by finishing 2nd
overall in the 2010 World Championships held in New
Zealand
